The book is the ideal sequel to The power of the Cross and is a collection of the preaching held by Father Cantalamessa before the Pope, during the Good Friday liturgy, from 1999 to 2008, that is between the two pontificates of John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
Cantalamessa’s lectures are a prolonged and affectionate meditation on the mystery of the Cross: they are sort of ideal stations of the Cross that induce to the contemplation, the adoration and the imitation of Christ.
