Don Davide ci suggerisce come. Ho pensato alle giornate di Gesù e alle mie, alle nostre, e ho provato a scandirle in quattro capitoli che seguono il corso naturale del tempo: mattina, giorno, sera, notte. Cercherò di identificare non soltanto il tempo cronologico, ma anche ciò che l’ora in questione è in grado di evocare: un atteggiamento, un sentimento, un’attenzione. Passeremo così attraverso l’ora della preghiera, del tradimento, della chiamata, del lavoro, della sosta, del cammino, della tentazione, del desiderio, della stanchezza, della speranza. Il tutto cercando di lasciarci conquistare dalla Parola e dall’esempio di Gesù» (dall’Introduzione).
 

The thread running through the book is the passing of time. The title, quoting the well-known phrase in John’s Gospel, refers to the days: Jesus’ days as well as ours. Morning, afternoon, evening, night: to each of these moments the dedicates some meditations that deal not only with the chronological time, but also with what each particular part of the day can suggest and recall: a feeling, an attitude… (the hour of the betrayal, of the rest, of the walk…).
